“I have you and even if we never meet or ever see each other, we have left our thumbprints in the thick, moist clay of each other’s lives.” – Hugh Elliott, Standing Room Only weblog
Isn’t this quite interesting?
There are many people we don’t meet (or can’t meet sometimes) and it’s interesting how many people don’t think about that.
To the people that believe in soul mates, think about it: you’re living your normal life and you pass by a funeral and…you go on with your life. Have you ever thought who that funeral was for? I mean, the concept of soul mates is that a person can unite with another person and their union would be perfection. (Note: I don’t believe in soul mates.)
Have you ever thought about the numerous funerals you’ve been to and that one of them could’ve been your partner? (People usually don’t because they assume that their soul mate is alive while they are and that’s not the case, people!)
I didn’t think that this one girl I chatted with on FanFiction is now applying to the same university as I am attending right now. We chatted back in 2010. It’s 2013.
I mean, sure, I didn’t really “meet” this person, but she surely left a print on my life and for me to think that I’m going to be able to understand the history of this print and witness the future of it is absolutely amazing to me.
Yes, the story above is true and you have no idea how happy I am right now. I mean, this one girl in a completely different country and I are completely unrelated except for our brief cooperation, but now, our paths could possible cross!
(For some reason I’d also like to point out that our lives aren’t just linear lines; we’re a connecting line that goes in different directions during different intervals. Go math!)
