“Gratitude is the most exquisite form of courtesy.” – Jacques Maritain
I’m never skipping a quote challenge again, much less three. Four.
Gratitude – n. the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness
We’re always thankful for many things: creation of
tumblr the internet, the British (for their tea and hot men), public education, etc. But have you ever thanked yourself for doing something?
Have you ever really thought about giving yourself a true pat on the back?
We are grateful for so many things we often overlook some of the important things: our uniqueness, so every now and then, look at yourself in the mirror and say, “Damn, I’m awesome.”
Be happy, for you only get one life, one chance.
But when expressing gratitude to someone, try to go for actions rather than words. Words hold worth and meaning, but it’s actions that gets the worth and meaning through. Send a postcard, buy a coffee, take him/her out for ice cream, etc.
So many possibilities and I do hope that you’ll be more creative than me when coming up with ideas like these. (Also might be because it’s really late into the night right now and I might or might not be thinking straight.)
