“Indifference and neglect often do much more damage than outright dislike.” – J. K. Rowling
two three very late posts, but I’ve been busy (somewhat) and I finally managed to get a personal day off…
I need to say this first: I absolutely adore J. K. Rowling and I love the Harry Potter books. She’s one of my “role models” (if you’d call it that) and I respect her very much.
If you dislike politics, that means that you have at least a vague idea of how politics work and that’s knowledge.
You notice that a student of your school has signs of abuse, but you don’t say anything because it doesn’t matter. Yet if you had pointed it out and even if you had made a mean remark about it, someone would’ve noticed. That student could’ve gotten help faster.
When we pretend that everything’s alright, nothing turns out to be fine. We can ignore the environmental damage we’re doing in favor for messy and children’s politics over jurisdiction of ocean waters (seriously, that has got to stop). And I promise you that one day in the far future (if we even have one left), someone is going to look back at this and think, why, oh why were we so stupid?
Yes, yes…that’s my question too.
